Guys, one of our members really needs your help! My daughter Maggie, your EMT and now a brand new LPN Nurse was diagnosed with Leukemia the morning after our ? WSLEFIA Richard Neimer Memorial Shoot? held this past summer at the Pierce County Sheriff?s Range. To say the least the news was devastating to our family. She has undergone Chemo treatments throughout the Summer and Fall (that is why some of you found her sleeping at times throughout the day at our summer training event in Tri-Cities, that is a reaction of a Chemo treatment which she had received just before coming over with me last July. I couldn?t stop her from coming because like me, the training event is a highlight of our summer and she enjoys the role and the contribution she makes to our organization.
Good news of sorts to report, her doctor at Fred Hutchingson Cancer Hosp. in Seattle says she is in partial remission at this time through the Chemo treatments but now recommends her to receive a ?Cord Blood Transfusion?. Problem is, that is considered an ?experiential? procedure and the insurance companies won?t pay for it. Fred Hutch has been doing them for 5 years and they are ?highly? successful. Our family cost is $35,000.00 cash upfront. The prognoses is better than all the other treatments, ie stem cell transplant etc. to put her in full remission for 15 years.
I?m asking for your financial help if you would like to donate ?anything? to her treatment fund that she has set up through an online service that returns 100% of the donated money to her. The page says only a few weeks left to donate, that only represents this ?giving? cycle and that will be reset and started again. We are looking towards the Spring for this treatment after the doctor gets her blood workups in their optimum condition for the transfusion. Thank you all for any consideration.
